I read last night that this past Monday was called “Blue Monday” and is considered to be the most depressing day of the year. This is due to many of the factors that I have mentioned before in blogs and some I hadn’t. Some of the reasons are the bitter cold, minimal daylight, post Christmas holiday doldrums, and the fact that many New Year’s resolutions have now already been broken. I thought of all of these factors myself except for the one about broken New Year’s resolutions. Blue Monday is the third Monday of the year and people have already broken their resolutions. That’s pathetic! It only takes a little over 2 weeks for people to give up a change for the better in their lives apparently. Two weeks isn’t that long really is it? Maybe people are just setting their goals too high or maybe we are just lazy. Whatever the reason, it is certainly a factor that is under a person’s control, so if they are depressed because of that they only have themselves to blame. My Blue Monday didn’t seem too bad. It wasn’t too great either though. I find the first Monday back from the New Year’s holiday to be more depressing for me. It’s the very start of the long time span where we have no holidays and it’s really far from next Christmas.
I spent my Blue Monday like every other Monday at DDA working on some digital projects. I do things like 3D animation, custom programming, flash animation, and flash programming. The other workers here do all the other possible things one can do in the digital world. Whatever you’re thinking up, we can do it. Just give us a call or visit today and see what we can do for you.
