Office Danger

Did you know that one of the most dangerous undertakings in the modern day office setting is cutting a bagel. People just don’t know how to do it in the proper, safe way or they don’t care. People can easily slice their own hand up by accident during a bagel cutting session because we use sharp serrated knives and too many people are cutting towards their own hands. I saw Mick nick himself cutting a bagel just last month. It wasn’t too bad and he just needed to suck on his wound for a little to fix it. Luckily, we haven’t had any major bagel injuries while I’ve been here that would have needed a doctor’s attention, or a surgeon’s.

Amy has come to save the day though this past Monday by bringing in a new, modern marvel of man’s creation. She brought a bagel guillotine. It is a great little item to show off man’s ingenuity and certainly makes bagel cutting infinitely safer. As long as you are not dumb enough to hold your own finger under the guillotine while you are pressing it down, you will be completely safe while cutting. The bagel guillotine holds your bagel for you. All you need to do is press down from above and the uniquely designed serrated guillotine blade does the rest. It worked like a charm and I was certainly impressed that the design allowed the blade to cut so easily without the need for any sawing back and forth motion of the blade.

Everyone is always trying to innovate to make things easier to use and safer. While many inventions are just turning us into a lazier, under-exercised society, others are actually helping to make us more productive, smarter, and safer. DDA’s staff tries to innovate with every project we get. It may be a new use of Papervision 3D in flash animation. It may be custom programming to track website use and gain statistical knowledge of the users. It may be a new web design that breaks the old standard mold that most sites are based on. Whatever the idea may be, DDA will give it a go and try to make it happen. Most times innovation may take longer, but it will certainly make you stand out amongst a crowd.

So keep creating new and better things America, that’s how we stay ahead. Also, if you could make electric cars a lot cheaper somehow, that would be great. I’d like to get one, but they are still quite a bit out of my price range.
