Knowledge is Power

This past weekend, I spent my time at the hospital. My “other Mom” had a tumor removed from her kidney, and is awaiting the pathology results. While she was  in recovery, there were a few other issues that seemed to have surfaced, and luckily she was in the right place for them to be addressed. During her pre-op time, she spent lots of time surfing the Internet for information on her situation, and I was happy to give her a few places to look from Our own DDA portfolio of websites and information. One of the beautiful things about the Internet is that you can have so much information at your fingertips. In the past, you were in the dark as to what a procedure may entail. Now, you can see actual medical education videos, or see animated medical videos that can show every step. Most websites come with medical illustrations and animated medical graphics that will help you understand the details. It doesn’t always make you any less nervous, but knowledge is power, and power is strength to help you get through to recovery.
