A Little ‘Umph’

Some days it pays to turn the TV off, and just go about your life without worrying about all the bad stuff happening the world over. Life is much more simple and therefore controllable when you are not juggling thoughts of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico which is going to impact the lives of men and women who depend on the sea for a living, not to say anything about destroying a precious natural resource; then there are all the financial problems, Greece going bankrupt and the EU lending it so much money, you wonder if it will ever be repaid, and if so, HOW. Then there are the unemployment problems at home, the number still hovers at 9.9, and yesterday Freddie who holds 70% of American mortgages is asking the government for another 8.4 billion dollars.

HOW DEPRESSING. No TV or news for me for awhile.

Instead, I’m going to concentrate on helping our advertising and marketing company turn out the best quality work possible by paying attention to myriad details, that I can do, and do well.

My mantra for the rest of May, “The difference between try and triumph is a little ‘umph’.”  Author unknown
