RCN is a cable, phone, and internet service provider with a focus on customer service. They want their customers to be satisfied in both the quality of the technology and their ability to use it properly. Therefore, RCN wanted to add a new how-to tutorial to their On Demand channel that details how to perform some basic but integral tasks, including setting up a new email account.
As a full-service video production company, DDA was equipped to handle all aspects of this project. On top of video production, DDA would provide graphic design and scriptwriting services in order to produce this how-to video. By the end of the video, the viewer will have a clear understanding of how to set up a new Outlook email account from start to finish.
DDA designed the layout of the video from the color scheme and animated background to the user-friendly menu structure and screen actions. DDA copywriters wrote the step-by-step instructional script and made sure each step was explained in clear terms. The voiceover narration in the video was recorded and edited in DDA’s state-of-the-art video production studio. Combining on-screen visuals of magnified Outlook dialogue box screenshots with animated cursor indicators shows the viewer exactly what they should see and do during the email set-up process. DDA programmers made sure the dynamic menu function matched the narration, screen actions, and supplementary text instructions for a seamless presentation.
From conceptualization and design to scriptwriting and editing, DDA produced this easy-to-follow tutorial to guide RCN customers on setting up their email account, and in the process, proved how efficiently a task can be completed when given clear and easy-to-follow instructions.
