Challenge

Dorman Products offers automotive solutions for everything from fuel and emissions to brakes, engine, and body. In order to showcase all their products and services, Dorman needed more than just a simple trade show booth. DDA was asked to create something dynamic to not only make Dorman Products stand out, but to leave a lasting impression.

Objectives

To showcase all products and services Dorman Products provides, DDA would design and program a web-based virtual trade show. The trade show experience must present information in an interactive way, so DDA's Flash designers and developers would use Flash programming in development of this virtual experience to animate the trade show "booths" online. The user should also have access to product sell sheets, information sheets, videos, audio, and more. Information included in the presentation should also be easy to update, and there should be a way to track how trade show visitors access and interact with the site.

Solution

DDA designed and developed an interactive Flash virtual trade show experience that has never been seen before. This online trade show allows users to intuitively navigate the virtual booth and click individual panels and posters for a larger view of the products Dorman offers. Additionally, each panel holds a wealth of additional information including sell sheets, product information sheets, videos, audio, and more. Tracking mechanisms were put in place to track traffic from multiple URLs pointing to the virtual trade show website. Information accessed by each user was also tracked as was the click-through rate for over 50 individual product panels. An administrative content management system was also provided to allow Dorman Products to easily update the Flash virtual trade show with new images or panels and edit the downloadable materials behind each booth.
