The DDA Business Card

Business Cards. I’m designing new business cards for DDA today and this is proving to be the most difficult task on my list today. Seemed like it would be the easiest one, but with 6 separate divisions, DDA MedicalDDA VideoDDA CMTDDA SEMDDA Apps and DDA USA, I’m struggling a bit to find a harmonious design. I began to wonder just what people do with business cards anymore. Since I’ve been working at DDA I’ve handed out about 2 dozen cards to clients and I saw them shoved into folders to possibly be stapled onto them later or perhaps they’re filed into a Rolodex at a later date. Honestly, when I receive a client’s business card I leave it in the folder I have for that project and as long as I have their email address and mailing address saved into my computer’s address book I could care less if it gets lost or misplaced. At only 3 1/2″ wide and 2″ tall there’s not much room to include sales points. If the budget is there a clever die-cut would add some interest or a fold-over card would allow more room for information that just can’t be omitted. I’ve seen doctor’s offices use business cards as reminder cards for appointments equipped with stickers to stick onto your home calendar. Seeing as my home calendar is an erasable white-board, I find them useless. As you can tell I’m having a bit of a lackluster moment and am hoping the solution to the DDA Business Card soon shows itself!
