Helping To Claw Our Way Back

Listening to the pundits debate the American future this past week has been discouraging. The biggest worry is how much money we owe China. The amount is staggering and has economic, financial and political implications. I have always found the expression, “He who has the gold rules,” and that is exactly what the Chinese government is doing, actually muscling in on our foreign policy. One of its most recent “dictates” is that President Obama should not meet with the Dalai Llama. They are also refusing to join in the international sanctions against Iran’s nuclear build up.

Living and working in Bucks County, Pennsylvania we feel a certain protection against that brewing storm, but make no mistake, this will affect us all if we do not do something quickly. First, our leaders have to stop spending. It is ridiculous that we have to borrow money from the Chinese to pay the interest on the loans we have with them.

Imagine if small businesses across the country ran their operations the same way. It would not take long for life as we know it to come to a grinding halt. As it is, at DDA, as tough as it has been, we feel blessed that we have meaningful projects concentrating on health information at different levels. All our teams work hard in every department to prove to clients who have entrusted their budgets to us that DDA is the right choice.

Hopefully our model is being repeated in many shops, in many states and together the small business stick-to-it-ive-ness and the American spirit will help lead the way out of this decline.

“There are plenty of ways to get ahead. The first is so basic I’m almost embarrased to say it: spend less than you earn.” Paul Chitheroe
