The Green Effect!

For several years now, Dynamic Digital has sent out Holiday cards created by our talented graphic designers. This year we are sending out our first digital Thanksgiving card and it has a green theme. It is all part of our commitment to doing our share as a responsible company. However, Kermit is right; it isn’t easy being green. It takes daily awareness of big and little things from throwing bottles and cans in the recycle bin to using less paper, to car pooling for lunch so you don’t waste gasoline–and that’s just at work! Now you have to develop these new habits so they become part of your daily life. Yes being green is 24/7.

All of a sudden, there is a renewed interest in the environment and our natural resources. Notice how every company, from the Utilities, to the trade magazines, to businesses large and small have adopted the “reduce, reuse, recycle” mantra. Notice how many ads use every shade of green. When new clients ask what makes DDA greener than other advertising agencies, I tell them about our four day week and how we have done this for close to a decade.  I tell them how we unplug all electronics and small electrics (except for fax machines) when we leave Thursday night. How we continue to investigate ways to eliminate the waste associated with data storage as we get bigger. None of this is sexy, but we think over time we can have a real impact. We proved this in 2008 when we spent the time and money to insulate our very leaky building. So this Thanksgiving, the thought of walking gently on the only earth is blessing number one, and the other equally important blessing is that we are very busy. From all of us at DDA, may you all count your blessings as well! Happy feasting.
