Bright Sides and Positive Thinking

I have a bit of a commute to the office every morning. While the actual mileage is under 40 each way, the drive typically takes about 50 minutes in the morning and an hour in the evening. On most days I don’t mind the drive. In fact, I prefer time alone to myself before needing to interact with people. I would never wake up early just to have that time at home, so the drive works out well for that. Of recent days though, the commute has been annoying at best. This is due to a road closure, which has now forced even more cars on the already-over-populated road I travel into work. This morning it took me a little less than an 1 hour 20 minutes to get here. What a drive! OK, so I don’t want to just complain. I guess I’m still a little cranky.

The commute has been good in one way, I certainly don’t mind driving and-or being in a car for longer distances. What used to seem so far away from me, like the King of Prussia mall, now appears so much closer. It’s just a mere 45 drive to the mall. On the turnpike nonetheless! That’s a piece of cake. With the college trips we just went on this was a vital asset, as I was the primary driver.

Things that may seem like a daunting task at first don’t always have to be negative, if you catch my drift. There is always a bright side to every situation and if you have a positive viewpoint, that bright side will be easy to spot.  So I may grumble about the commute, but in the end there are some advantages it’s afforded me.

Positive attitudes are important at DDA. With so much innovation and pioneering going on in all different capabilities,  we have to keep upbeat and remain confident that we’ll produce products that are effective and get the most results for our clients. Of course, when you have so much professional talent under one roof you don’t have to worry so much. For me, it’s really important to remain positive and optimistic when helping a client determine the best direction for them and do my best to connect them with the website design and development, video production, custom programming, or search engine marketing (SEM) services in which they’re interested.

I doubt, however, that I am going to be too positive about the time added to my commute anytime soon. In this case, I think I just need to adjust.
