Communication is the Key to Success

Every Wednesday I take an exercise class at a natural foods and vitamin shop near my home. Though I’m often planning hexes on my instructor midway through the class, I enjoy it very much.

Two weeks ago, while on vacation I received a very confusing message about class being canceled. The woman leaving it seemed to not really know what was going on. I was left confused and with the sense that the class was ending for good. I called the store to find out what was going on and was assured that it had just been canceled for that one week because the instructor was ill. However, upon arriving at class that night (albeit 10 minutes late due to a traffic jam) I found the place dark and the door locked. Last night I discovered that the instructor had arrived as planned but found no one else there. Apparently the other women in the class had also been left misleading messages informing them the class was canceled for that night as well.

I think, or hope that it goes without saying that clear communication is the key to any successful business. The last thing you want to do is leave your target audience with a mixed message, especially when it deals with a call to action you would like them to take. This applies on any level for any industry.

At DDA, developing messages that are clear, concise, have a clear call-to-action, and directed specifically to your target audience is something of which we are very capable. In development of any interactive or traditional marketing service, from website design and development to video production and animations, we take great pains to ensure that what you really mean to say is being carried across to the people who need to hear it.

Whether it’s a custom programming application that requires users to fill out a form, as part of our search engine marketing (SEM) techniques, or in the production of a brochure, we are always thinking, planning, and strategizing on the best methods to get your audience to do what you want. The last thing you want is for someone to look at something connected to a core piece of your business and scratch their head in puzzlement. Confused people rarely take action, or should I say the correct action.

As for my class, the instructor has decided that she will be doing all phone calls from now on if class is canceled again.  Probably a smart move.
