Do the Right Thing

Yesterday I was at Target, hunting in the clearance section, picking out reduced-priced drapes. We’ve been in our house for nearly five years and our dining room windows are still naked. It’s time. Since it was a spur of the moment kind of thing, I had my boyfriend text me the window dimensions. I sat my phone down to use as a reference, and then, naturally, walked off. It wasn’t until I was grocery shopping at a whole other store 15 minutes away, when I realized the cell phone was missing. So I backtracked. Luckily, the phone had been found and sent to the customer service desk. During the course of this confusion, the sales clerk phoned my mother to report that I lost the phone. My mother later told me that she thinks they had assumed I was a teenager. She says because I lost the phone; I say because they probably checked my call log and saw that my mother calls me everyday, and no one under the age of 18 gets a call from their mother everyday, except me.

What this has to do with DDA, I’m not entirely certain. Except to say that this little situation proves that some people still do the right thing. The other week I saw a feature on the news about this man who found a wallet, stuffed with money and returned it. Everyone was praising him and saying how wonderful it was that he didn’t steal it. I was kind of saddened by this report. Is our society that bad that we’re genuinely shocked when people do the right thing? I felt it to be kind of condescending and if I were that man, I might be even be offended.

For some people doing the right thing isn’t an option, it’s the way they live their lives. At DDA, we always try to do the right thing. From getting plenty of input from our clients at each step of the process to making sure our eLearning platforms meet all guidelines and regulations, we work hard to make sure everything is done as it should be. It’s this integrity and commitment to our clients that allow us to provide the most high-quality, state-of-the-art, and innovative medical and corporate marketing and advertising services possible, including custom programming, video production, website design and development, animations, interactive games, and so much more.

Don’t get me wrong I’m incredibly grateful to the person who found my cell phone, I’m just saying that when it comes down to it, doing the right thing should be the rule and the exception.
