From the Digi-Islands to Today

I have been doing some writing this week on DDA’s social networking services and in the process am discovering a bit of history.

Yesterday, I wrote on the Digi-Islands, a virtual community that DDA created well before MySpace and Facebook became household names. There was quite a lot to do on the virtual vacation spot, including an online auction, beach area where people could upload and vote on photos, and the option to rent and furnish your very own condominium. It’s interesting to look back at an earlier project of DDA’s to see how far ahead of the game we were at that time.

These days social networking websites and virtual, online communities are all the rage, but when DDA created it’s vacation destination, there wasn’t much like it anywhere on the web.

Today, the corporate and medical interactive, multimedia projects we create have evolved to be even more innovative and cutting-edge, combining technologies in a way that is not commonly seen, and this is true in our video production, website design and development, custom programming work, and animations.

It’s funny to see how much has changed and how much hasn’t. DDA was a leader in innovation then, and we are a leader now.
